March Books: Alistair Reynolds – Pushing Ice

Alistair Reynolds – Pushing Ice (2005)

I like an author who is both excellent and prolific – Alistair Reynolds is both. No waiting years for a new title. Novels, novellas and short stories appear regularly to sate your appetite for his work.

I’ve only been catching up with some of the older works recently. This is a stand alone novel, featuring an ice mining human ship, an alien ship and the consequences of the one meeting the other. As is usual with Reynolds work there are excellent fully realised female characters, lots of on board and off board politics and plenty of action.

If you don’t know his work this would be an excellent introduction.
